The battle for the Relic

Huron barely escaped the encounter with Typhus and his Death Guard forces. He wanted answers on to why the Herald of Nurgle was there. And why didn't his Sorcerer feel his presence.
Upon arriving on his air ship, he went to the Sorcerer grabbed him by his neck, and tossed to the side, pointing his flamer towards him.
"Why is that you couldn't feel the presence of Typhus on this dammed planet? Do you understand that we got defeated? And that the Relic is in his hands now?! Give me one good reason not to burn you on the spot."
The Sorcerer was in shock of how enraged Huron was, but yet, he did have good news for the Tyrant. It turned out that the power that he mistaken for the Relics one, actually belonged to Typhus. And that it means that the Relic has some Nurgle powers within it, or, Typhus and the Relic are some kind connected. And now is seeking it as the Red Corsairs do.
But thanks to that knowledge, the Sorcerer can now trace the power of the Relic more sufficiently. And he feels it very clearly from a planet that the Corsairs have already visited while searching for it. The planet that the Sorcerer was talking about belonged to the Imperium. On the planet, the was an Imperial base. The base was for some kind of research. Thats why when the Corsairs landed on the planet, they where greeted by a Mechanicum and forces of Blood Angels.
The corsairs mission was to get some insight on the Relic there, and when they did, they left the planet Immediately.  But the encounter was a hard one. The Corsairs took casualties. and it felt like the Imperium forces where expecting them to arrive at any given moment. Could it be that they where guarding something on this planet?
Huron took extra caution this time, and took a bigger force with him. But scattered the force so that it will be harder for the enemy to track them down.
Upon arriving on the planet, the Corsairs didn't encounter any resistance from the Imperial forces. In fact, there where non left. The entire base was destroyed and abandoned. Something happened here, some kind of explosion occurred that made the Imerium forces abandon their base. The explosion was also releasing toxic fumes in to the air. And the closer Corsairs got to the base, the harder it was to breath.

Soon the Sorcerer felt another presence that was very strange in nature, but yet, it seemed familiar.   When they finally arrived at the base, they where shot at. The snipers where hiding in some dense jungle terrain, hidden from the sight of Corsairs.
The shooters where very persistent, and didn't give their target any time to react. The shots where hitting the target, but thanks to the power armor, the hits weren't lethal.

Then one more explosion happened, and this one was much bigger then the last one. Wall of steam penetrated from the ground, which gave the Corsairs the, so much needed, cover. And so they went straight to the base, which was fully covered with the toxic fumes. But those fumes, where denying the enemy snipers view on their target.
And so the Corsairs where safe for the time being.

Huron wasn't going to hide here for ever. And so, he ordered the Heldrake to fly in to the skies, and track down the snipers, and then, eliminate them quickly.
The beast flew up in to skies as ordered, gave out a devastating scream to let his pray know that it started the hunt.
After making couple of laps around the base, the Drake located its target. It went straight down to the ground, leaving a tray of smoke behind its tail. When the beast landed, it saw Eldar scouts. The Xeno snipers where terrified at the sight of the Daemon Engine. The Heldrake didn't give then any chance to react, and flamed his target to a crisp with its Bale flamer.
After the fire settled down, there was only one scout still alive. He managed to jump behind a rock, and avoid all the fire.
Heldrake moved towards the lonely scout, while he was powerless to do anything. Then the beast grabbed him in his claws, and flew up in to the air. While in the air, it noticed the remaining force, that the scout belonged to. The force was making its way to the exploding base, where the Corsairs where currently. The Daemon Engine ripped the scout in two halves, and dropped one of the half in front the enemy line while flying over them and giving out a loud roar. Letting his master Huron know, that there is a new threat.
The halves of the body fell in front of the Eldar leader. The leader looked in the dead eyes of his sniper, and whispered something. The dead body emitted a light, and then a dark shadow flew from it straight to the Eldar leader. It landed on its palm and vanished as unexpectedly as in appeared. The eyes of the dead Eldar turned pure black, as his soul was devoured by the unknown Farseer.
He stepped over the dead body and went to his squad of Jet Bikers. The Farseer ordered them to flank the enemies, while he, and the rest of the force will go ahead.
The squad was eager to follow their leaders order, and so the turbo boosted behind a hill, to go around it and end up behind their enemies. But what they didn't expect to see was a chaos spawn. The beast jumped out of no where, grabbed one of the bikes and slammed it in to the ground. The other two Eldar stopped as well, trying to save their fellow soldier.
Huron saw how the Heldrake was flying around the same spot, and giving out loud roars. And that indicated that it found more enemies.
After the encounter with Typhus, Huron was expecting some hind of flank attack. And so, he was prepared for a counter attack. He brought some Spawns with him, that could deal with such a nuisance. And so it did.
The attack began with both sided trying to shoot at each other, while moving towards the center.
But all that shooting was in vain, because of the toxic clouds that surrounded the area. It prevented a clear line of sight for both sides.
Then, one more explosion happened, this one was the biggest one yet. With it, came a small earthquake, and the middle of the base fell to the ground, exposing an underground room. And there it was, the Relic.
It was sealed away inside some kind of glass container. But the glass couldn't hold its power. The Relic was emitting aura around it self, that caused the explosions. And it seemed that it was reacting to the Farseer and its, unknown, magic. Huron embarked in to his rhino, and ordered the driver to go full speed ahead towards the Relic.
The Rhino was moving full speed, and Huron already felt this newly required power in his claws.
As all of a sudden, a massive explosion hit right in front of the rhino. It turned out that the enemy had one more surprise to offer.
A massive tank was hidden behind a hill, far away from all the battle. And the tank didn't need any line of sight. It had advanced technology that gave him the upper hand in shooting. It could track down its targets with the help of that technology and shoot his missiles straight at them, giving the coordinates of where his target was.
The tank continued shooting its missiles at the Corsairs. But thanks to the fast force, the units that where shoot at, where managing to avoid the incoming fire.
Both forces continued moving forward, until they where able to see each other.
The Sorcerer knew that he felt that power some where before.  He knew, that the force they faced now, where the followers of, false, Khaine.
A cult of Eldar, that worship an ancient God, who claims to be Khaine. But yet, any one who saw him, knew, he wasn't Khaine.
The crazed look on the Eldar faces, the iconography on their armor. It all belonged to the falls God.
This cult was known for its balled attacks and gorilla tactics. Many races try and avoid this maniacs if possible. But the Corsairs have some history with them. The two sides encountered each other in combat. Where leading the Corsair force a Chaos Lord, who decided to slay the Cult members for his own amusement. But little did he know, that the reason of the Cult gathering was to awaken their false god, and when they succeeding in doing that, all the souls that where present in that area, where devoured. Including the Lords itself.
As soon as the Corsair bikers saw their opposing enemies, they didnt hesitate to unleash their flamers upon the Xeno.
They drove straight to the enemy jet bikers, and started flaming them.
Screams where heard coming from this Eldar bikers, as they where burning alive. But that wasn't enough for the Corsairs. The same biker squad then unleashed a charge battle cry and driven right to the burning Eldar. The took their chain swords and started to cut their enemies in to pieces, making sure not to leave any alive, and laughing while doing that.
While the other Corsair bike squad, encountered a Wraith construct. They knew that a Wraith Lord is very dangerous, and decided to bring it down with their melta shots. But the Wraith construct was protected by some kind of magic, a dark aura was surrounding him, and all incoming fire was hitting the aura instead.
Knowing that shooting him is pointless, the squad decided for a bald charge.
They charged him, in hopes to prevent the monster from causing any damage to other Corsair units.
While the Corsairs where busy fighting the Cult. A surprise came from the skies. A squad of swooping hawks came behind the Heldrake, and attempted to shoot him.
The squad had the same markings as the cult, suggesting that this Cult has grown massively, and has ranged of different types of units.
The Hawks started shooting at the Heldrake. But the only thing they managed too do is to anger the beast. The Drake swung his wings, and went up in to the skies.

But that wasn't the only surprise that the Eldar had. One more psyker came out from the ranks of Wraith Guard, and lashed a devastating psychic attack on the bikers that where killing the remaining squad of Eldar.
A line of black lightning came out from her hands, and hit one of the bikers straight in to the chest, killing him instantly and leaving a horrible black mark on his body.

Huron saw that his biker units made some progress, but have been ultimately stopped by the forces of Xeno. He then decided for a bald attack, and to continue pressuring the Cult and its members.
He disembarked from his rhino, along side his Marine units, and commanded one unit to go ahead and support the unit of bikers that where in a clash with the Wraith Lord. While the other unit should concentrate their fire power on the Wraith Guard, that where closing in on both biker squads.
The situation escalated very quickly in the next couple of minutes.
The Heldrake, ignoring the flanking unit of Hawks, dropped in to try burn the enemy Farsee down to a krisp.

But the Leader was protected by some kind of psychic dome. The flame went around him, hitting the vegetation, and setting it on blaze.
The Drake made one more loop around the Farsee, before charging on to him and grabbing him in his claws.
The Seer in return used a psychic  power, that casted  bright light on to the Heldrakes head. linding the drake, which made him release its pray.
Then the Farseer used the same power as his apprentice on the bikers. A black bolt came out from the Farseers hand, and hit the Drake right in the chest. The beast gave out a scream and flew of in to the dark skies.

Seeing that the Heldrake is having trouble, the unit of flamer bikers left their decapitated target, and used their own flamers to try and burn down some Wraith Guard that where near them. But they where met with the opposing flames of the Guard. The flames of Wraith Guard found its target, and set on fire one of the Marines on bike.
All that fire mixed together set the entire base on fire. The toxic fumed where exploding here and there. And the eye view was brought down to a minimum.
Fire was every where and the temperature was rising with every second.
The half dead spawn was still holding the Jet bikes in his claws. The bikers where trying to slash him with their knives, but the abomination was only getting angrier and striking back every time it suffered a wound.
One of those strikes knocked of the Eldar from his bike. The Spawn grabbed him with his second claws and started munching on his flesh, ripping him in to small pieces while the Xeno was screaming.
The battle field was in chaos. Fire spreading every where. No visible targets to shoot. Power sword, power fist and all other close combat weapons where heard clashing every where. The Red Corsairs where pushing forward. And then in happened. The enemy warlord was about to unleash a power on his enemies. The power was felt by every Psyker on the battle field. A massive power that can rival the one of Eldrad. It was trouble, and Huron knew that the psychic power should be stopped.
The Daemon Prince was the closest one to the Farseer. He flew towards the enemy, grabbed the target with his massive talons, tossed him on to the ground and was ready to slice his head of. But when he was about to do that, the Farseer used a force, that pushed the Daemon back, giving the Seer the needed time to get back on his feet.
Daemon prince dident want to give his prey any time to use that power, which was, still, charging inside the Farseer.
He jumped back to him, slashing his Daemon Sword left and right. But the sword never found its target. The Seer was able to block every hit with his staff. For a Farseer he was very proficient in close combat. And not only that, but he managed to land some hits with his staff on to the Prince.
Huron saw the might of the Warlord with his own eyes, as he closed in to join the combat and help the Daemon Prince out. He felt the immense power coming from that Eldar, and the power that could be unleashed every second if given the chance. Huron prepared his ax, and was about to charge in, as, all of a sudden, he was ambushed by swooping hawks.
They saw how the biker squad, that where in combat with the Wraith Lord, managed to destroy one of the most important assets of their army. So they flew over the squad and dropped a bomb on them that landed right in the middle of the squad, causing a big explosion, which got one of the bikers.
They where about to charge the squad, as they saw Huron all by him self, and turned their attention on to him. The hawks where shooting all of their ammo and the Tyrant. But little did they know that his armor wasn't a normal power armor. So all of their shots couldn't penetrate it.
With a terrifying smile, Huron extended his hand with the flamer, and used it to burn the entire squad down.
To his surprise, the quad leader was still alive. He came closer to the xeno warrior to make the final blow. The warriors armor was fully melted, his skin burnt, no hair left, and half of his face was fully melted away. The Xeno warrior tried to say something in his language, but Huron couldn't care less. He swung his sword, and chopped the head straight of his shoulders.
While that was happening, one eldar biker managed to escape the grasps of the spawn.
He looked down at the pool of flesh and blood that once, where his comrades.
The spawn started moving towards the last remaining biker, but was gunned down by him. The biker was shooting at the beast with his full power. And stopped only when the spawn looked exactly as his fallen unit. Then he made his way towards Huron, to try to kill him. But was stopped by a lightning strike that hit his bike, and made him fall of it.
A figure was heading towards him, he tried to stand up and run, but one more lightning strike hit him, this time in his leg.
He, once again, fell to the ground. One he turned around, he saw the Red Corsairs Sorcerer standing over him. The Sorcerer extended his hand towards the head of the Eldar, grabbed it and whispered a spell.
The Eldar started screaming as his head started to get bigger and bigger, and then, the screams stopped. There was nothing left of his head as it exploded.

Huron, holding the severed head of the Swooping Hawks champion in his hands, made his way toward the Daemon Prince once again.
As he made his first step, he was shot by a massive shot in the back. When he turned around, he saw the enemy Night Spinner, that was causing them trouble at the beginning.

Huron started laughing, as the tank had only one chance to damage him, and it failed.
Then he heard a roar. From all that smoke in the air, coming from the burning base, the Heldrake appeared. It flew right on top of the tank, grabbed his turret with his claws and ripped it out. The Unleashed its flames in to the opening.
Huron Joined him in flaming the tank, and together, they managed to fully destroy it. Not giving any chance for the enemy to disembark and escape.

Only after the Night Spinner was completely annihilated, Huron turned to face the, so desired combat.
But what he saw was his Daemon standing over the Farseer. In the end, the Prince managed to find an opening and strike the Psyker down.
The Daemon Prince went for the kill, but a lightning bolt hit him in the face, blinding him for a moment. The strike came from the Spirit Seer, that killed of a Marine on a bike previously.
She ran towards her master and grabbed him. The Warlord managed to open some kind of portal, and they both stepped in to it. Escaping their death. Huron was angry, and yet he won. But he had to escape from this burning base as fast as possible. The explosions where still happening, and the fire was spreading.
He, and his Sorcerer made their way towards the Relic. The Sorcerer managed to release it from the storage container that it was placed in. Then the Sorcerer managed to seal the power, that was bursting out of the Relic, back in. Ending the waves of explosions.
The Corsairs escaped to a part of the base that wasn't burning. And noticed, that they suffered minimum, to non, casualties.
Yet the Sorcerer still had a question. Why was the Relic reacting to that Farseer. And what where the cult going to do with it.

Nurgles rot

It all started some time ago. The search for the one Relic, that can help us construct powerful Daemon engines and control them.

But each step forward was turned out to be in to the wrong direction. Huron Blackhearth him self, picked Imperial ships with Librarians on board, and raided them. in hopes that of them might have the needed information about the Relic, and his location. But from all of them, only one gave the needed information.

The librarian was tortured for several months, until his sanity was damaged beyond repair. The Librarian started spilling out names of planets. Planets that might potentially be of interest to Huron.
Huron searched them all, and only one was remaining.

Red corsairs, along side Huron Black Hearth have landed on a devastated planet in order to find the Relic they where searching for.
The sorcerer of the fleet has felt massive energy waves from this planet. Which might indicate that the source might be coming from the artifact it self.
But there was some other energy coming from the planet as well. And that was the energy of Nurgle.

Huron decided to personally lead the force, in order to achieve his goal. But when the force came to  where the energy was coming from, they encountered a bad surprise.... Typhus.

The air was filed with stench of rotting flesh. The skies field with flies. Area was filled with Plague Marines, and all its inhabitants where killed, and then resurrected to fight for Nurgle. The planet was doomed...
But all of that didnt concern the Tyrant. All Huron wanted to know is:  Why is Typhus here?
Could it be that he is also after the Relic? If so, then why? He is the Herald of Nurgle, and thus, has more power then the artifact.

But there was no time to think on the matter. Because Huron and his forces where spotted. A massive beast of Nurgle gave out an agonizing scream, which alerted every one of the Red Corsairs.
A lasscannon shot hit the Red Corsairs rhino. Upon examining the battlefield, Huron noticed that the Death Guard army had an Predator tank in their ranks as well.

If that wasn't bad enough, Typhus started casting Psychic powers on the zombies. And he was to far away to try and stop it from happening.

Huron Immediately ordered his force to concentrate fire power at the massive blob of undead, that surrounds Typhus.

While his squad of Bikers, armed with meltas, and the Heldrake should move as fast as they can and try and take out the Predator.

If they let the predator continue shooting, that might be a big problem to Hurons plans. As it has the fire power of taking down all of their tanks, and whats most important, the Heldrake.

The bikers turbo busted behind an destroyed building, hiding them selves from eye sight of Thyphus and his forces .
All in order to flank the enemy lines and kill their machinery.

But what they saw was horrifying. All the Bolter shots, that came from the Corsairs, had almost no effect on the Zombies.
They where still running forward, covered in green ooze dripping down from the bolter holes that they suffered. With Typhus in the middle of them, he was laughing, and his laughter was ice cold.

But that wasn't the only problem the Corsairs faced. Some Deathguard forces also prepared a flank attack, and where only waiting for the right moment to strike.

While the massive hulking daemon was threatening the middle of the battle field with his presence.

One more shot came from the Predator, and hit the Rhino right in the front armor. Damaging it even more. And one of the shot found its target in a squad of chaos bikers, that where left with the main force, killing of one of them right on the spot.

Typhus got closer to the Corsairs, his zombies charging towards the bikers, when suddenly, Hurons trap closed.

A Daemon Prince, loyal to the Red Corsairs, and one Hellbrute along side with couple of spawns, that where hiding all this time. Jumped forward the zombies and shot some of the undead, and decreased their numbers down.

When the time came. Huron gave the   command to counter attack.
Hellbrute tried to shoot at the Plague   Hulk. He shot the beast right in to the   chest. But the power of Nurgle is to   strong. The beast just doesn't fill a thing   and continues moving forward.
The bikers took out their flamers, and   pointed them straight towards the   zombies,  in attempt to open Typhus for   and open Assault. But there was just to   many of the undead. Many of them fail   on to the ground, burning to a crisp. But   twice as many up roached, walking on   top of the burning bodies.  As last   attempt to kill the hoard, the first line of   Corsairs, charged in to the them. But that was a mistake. Thyphus smashed his undead soldiers on the the ground, making his way towards the Chaos Marines, and charging them him self.
The Marines managed to defeat the hoard, leaving none standing.

But the Herald Typhus, slashed with his scythe killing of some of the Marines. Then he put his hands in to the sky, and casted a power that obliterated every single Corsair that was in combat. All that was left was their ashes.
Typhus aught in Joy, taking pleasure in his deeds. And all in the name of Nurgle.
While he was pleased with his deeds, he didn't notice how he was surrounded by the Daemon Prince and two spawns.

Seeing all of that unfold, the flanking squad had no other choice but to interfere.
The Heldrake flew over the Plague Hulk and one more hoard of zombies, and flamed it, which caused some damage. Then it grabbed the Nurgle Beast with its claws and lashed and assault on it. Biting it in the neck, trying to bite of its head, and put and end to the beast that was slowly moving towards Huron and his lines.
By burning some of the zombies down, it gave a chance to the biker squad to charge the undead, and have a chance of killing them of.

But while the Red Corsairs flanking unit had to change their priority. A squad of Plague Marines managed to fulfill their role, and flanked Huron him self.
They sneaked up to Huron and lashed an attack towards him. The Champion, of Hurons personal squad, saw the attackers. And thus blocked their way towards his Lord and took the attack him self.
The two squads went in to a close combat, with the Plague Bearers killing each and every one of them. The last marine standing was the Champion him self. He drew his power sword in to the Plague Bearers shoulder. But with little to no effect. The Death Guard marine took his plague knife, and stabbed the champion in to the chest, leaving him to die on the ground. Then they, once again, made their way towards Huron.
The Tyrant turned around, stretched his arm forward and casted a Psychic power that killed of every single Plague Bearer except only two. The two remaining once where pushed back and on to the ground. Huron then grabbed his ax, came to the two survivors and shopped of their heads. Thus, securing his flank from any other attack.
But he knew, that no more flank attacks will be made. He knew, that Typhus won.

He saw Typhus standing on top of the Daemon Prince. Both where covered in wounds. Flies, that where the skies, rushed towards the Herald and covered his wounds, feasting on the rotten blood and was coming out from them.
Typhus raised his Scythe and slashed the Prince on his chest, opening it from the nect to the lower ribs.
The scream of the Daemon Prince spread true out the entire battle field. And hen it vanished in to the warp.
An almost dead Typhus killed his enemies in combat. And was looking towards Huron.
He pointed his finger, and made him self clear, that Huron is next. He made his first step towards him, when the Heldrake landed behind the Herald.
Typhus tuned around, and saw the Daemon Engine looking down at him. The Dragon opened his mouth and unleashed its flames on Typhus. Burning, Typhus fell on to the ground. The Heldrake flew over him towards his master.

Huron Sat in one of his Rhinos, and made his way towards his ship. He saw his last remaining squad of bikers being devoured by zombies. And the Plague Hulk, damaged but still alive, making his way towards the body of Typhus. While flying of the planet, he saw Typhus standing on his feet once again, and looking towards the Tyrant.

No Relic was found, and Red Corsairs suffered a massive defeat.
